Finding the right restaurant for a group dinner can be one of the trickier parts of planning a programme in Amsterdam. The venue needs to offer great food, but also the right atmosphere, capacity, service and logistics to make a group dinner feel effortless. Whether you're organising an incentive programme or corporate group dinner, the right restaurant can make all the difference.
Luckily, as your local DMC partner, we know Amsterdam inside out and can help you find the right fit. We've selected five of our favourite restaurants for groups in Amsterdam: four versatile options that work well for a wide range of programmes, plus one high-end choice for those occasions when you're looking to elevate the experience. Each offers something different, but they all share one important quality: they know how to make groups feel welcome.
A true Amsterdam institution, d’Vijff Vlieghen is one of the city’s most historic restaurants, spread across five beautifully preserved 17th-century buildings in the heart of Amsterdam. The restaurant serves modern Dutch cuisine inspired by seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, making it a great choice for groups looking to experience a taste of the Netherlands in a truly authentic setting.
With a total capacity of over 250 guests across its different rooms and floors, d’Vijff Vlieghen can accommodate larger groups while still retaining an intimate feel. Several private and semi-private spaces are available, including Het Binnenhof, which can host up to 80 guests and even has its own jetty for boat arrivals.

Located on vibrant Rembrandtplein, Chez van Rijn (formerly known as Kitchen & Bar Van Rijn) combines a stylish setting with a lively Amsterdam atmosphere. The restaurant serves modern French-inspired cuisine and works particularly well for corporate and incentive groups looking for a central location with plenty of atmosphere. For private events, the dedicated Private Dining room can accommodate up to 96 guests for a seated dinner, with its own sound system and private setting.

Located on Wibautstraat in Amsterdam East, BAUT Oost offers a relaxed and contemporary setting that works particularly well for corporate and incentive groups. The restaurant combines a creative atmosphere with a flexible approach to group dining, making it suitable for everything from a relaxed group dinner to a more exclusive private event. A particular highlight is BovenBAUT, the fully private event space on the first floor. The space is ideal for private dinners for 20 to 80 guests, with its own bar, kitchen and AV facilities. The combination of a private setting, incredible food and BAUT's informal style makes it a great option for groups looking for high-quality food and service, without feeling overly formal.
What makes BAUT Oost particularly convenient for groups is its excellent accessibility. Located directly next to a metro station, the venue is easy to reach from across Amsterdam, while its location on Wibautstraat also allows coaches to get close to the venue. This makes it a practical choice for groups.

Located directly on the IJ river, Vooges aan ’t IJ offers a relaxed setting with spectacular views across the water. The restaurant has several different areas that can be used flexibly, allowing groups to create a semi-private setting within the restaurant. For larger groups, the waterfront terrace is a real highlight, offering the opportunity to enjoy lunch, dinner or drinks outside with the river and passing boats as a backdrop.
What makes Vooges particularly practical for groups is its excellent accessibility. Coaches can drop guests off directly at the venue, making it an easy choice for incentive and corporate programmes where smooth group logistics are essential.

For a truly high-end group dinner, RIJKS® is hard to beat. Located in the Philips Wing of the world-famous Rijksmuseum and led by Executive Chef Joris Bijdendijk, the Michelin-starred restaurant celebrates the ‘Cuisine of the Low Countries’, showcasing Dutch ingredients with international influences. The open kitchen is an integral part of the experience, allowing guests in the semi-private dining area to watch the chefs at work while enjoying their dinner.
For more privacy, RIJKS® offers a dedicated private dining space for up to 50 guests, while the semi-private area can accommodate up to 40 guests. For groups looking to make the dinner a real highlight of the programme, the combination of exceptional cuisine, the Rijksmuseum setting and the theatre of the open kitchen makes RIJKS® a particularly memorable choice.
